Metascapes examines issues concerning the creation and (re)definition of art from a conceptual viewpoint. It explores the changing role of process-oriented artworks in a media-saturated society , the problematic relationship between artist and institution, the (de)commodification and dematerialization of the art object, and the blurring of distinctions between creative artwork and critical art theory.
