Carnivore listens to traffic on local networks and can track and collect any number of different aspects of this traffic eventually translating the ensuing flow of data into an aesthetic experience. With Carnivore PE, RSG has given us access to this same data which can then be used to create Carnivore Clients (data visualizations). In doing so, Carnivore PE gives artists a new medium from which to draw source material, while at the same time providing viewers with multiple art experiences, ranging from pure formalism to the esoteric and conceptual.
