Society of the Spectacle - A Digital Remix

Society of the Spectacle (A Digital Remix) is a collaborative digital video artwork created by Mark Amerika in collaboration with Trace Reddell and Rick Silva as the DJRABBI Collective. The work remixes and recontextualizes Guy Debord's landmark 1967 text and 1973 film of the same name through the lens of contemporary digital culture.

The piece draws on the collective's shared interest in remix culture, appropriation, and the critical examination of spectacle in the age of networked media. By digitally processing and recombining source material, the DJRABBI Collective creates a layered audiovisual experience that extends Debord's critique into the present moment -- interrogating how the spectacle has evolved in an era of social media, algorithmic curation, and ubiquitous image circulation.

Society of the Spectacle (A Digital Remix) has been exhibited in over 30 international venues, establishing itself as one of the most widely shown works in the collective's body of work.
