[Profile] Erik Loyer, like many accomplished net artists, began his career in the commercial realm. His early efforts included writing track for laserdisc releases. He then moved on to the computer gaming world, were he developed the interface for the game "The Dark Eye." Having always been creative, Erik wanted to construct an artistic site that combined the dynamic abilities of computer games with intriguing content; thus the birth of Lair of the Marrow Monkey. The site won the New Media Invision Silver Award in 1998, and has been added to the permanent collection of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. It also received Honorable Mention at the 1999 Prix Arts Electronica. With the help of the 1999 Rockefeller Media Fellowship, Erik has been able to continue elaborating on the narrative Chroma. He also founded and led the information architecture division at the Los Angeles office of Razorfish, Inc.
