[Intro] Qrime is a flash based world conceived and created by artist Motomichi Nakaura. As we enter, we instantly encounter a virtual space inhabited by thousands of faceless robot people, disembodied aliens, endless boxes of blood, and the driving beat of hip techno sounds.. Qrime raises many questions in the viewers mind, but does not hit you over the head with answers. Rather, it leaves things in an ambiguous space between humor and horror, order and anarchy. The incorporation of sound in Nakaura’s work draws the viewer in. One watches and feels part of the piece because both visual and auditory senses are stimulated, much the way we are drawn into a film, or real life for that matter. Yet it is the division between the real and the unreal where Nakaura captivates us. Both visual and auditory realities are pared down to their most basic representations.
