[Intro] As an eerie audio track loops in the background, e-poltergeist takes
over your browser, initiating searches that appear to be coming from a
paranormal source within the Internet that call out directly to the viewer.
Searches for phrases such as "Can you hear me?" and "Please help me" suggests
the isolation users feel while connected to the world as they sit alone at
their computers. This application works in conjunction with the Yahoo! search
engine, defamiliarizing common search activity. The self-reflexive nature of
this also piece suggests that net viewers can be thought of as conscious
entities within machinery
