[Intro] Control and insight are two qualities people are looking for on live web-cam
sites, and this is exactly what the Vopos system of monitoring offers a
viewer. The difference is that Vopos is a coded version of live web cam
sites. Vopos registers and maps their human presence during the period of one
year (2002) by recording their exact position on the Earth. Vopos demonstrates
the power and possibility of control and surveillance, yet it doesn't offer any
suggestions, stance or conclusion or try to visually or conceptually connect
the places of recorded position.
It only maps their presence without attempting to evoke a direct emotional
reaction. Vopos monitors movement via GPS (Global Positioning
System; a system of satellites owned by the U.S. Government).
