[Intro] It can be argued that the entire Internet is one great public work of
art. It creates a multi-linear, multi-media, interactive digital narrative
available anytime and on-demand. It also can be thought of as a meta-entity, a
concept similar to how an individual cell might perceive the body. In
exploring this vast body, this work of public art, all other forms of I-art
must be included. Generally we think of a work of art as an individual entity,
but net.art consists of links to separate pages, even within an 'individual'
piece. Experiencing net.art is just a part of the Internet experience itself,
just a piece of a greater whole. Expanding upon this illustration is Web
Roulette, random URL generators (presently, The Magic Lighthouse). Although it
only includes sites from this database, it conceivably could include the
entire web. Random linking is a way in which one can begin to create an on-
line narrative that explores the Internet itself, as a work of net.art.
