[Intro] An experimental DHTML project by Brent Gustafson. Making art with machine code…
Composed of ongoing projects in unique DHTML widgets, you can copy the source
codes for personal use. Very simple and funny, you’ll immediately notice the
retro graphics and look and feel, inspired by early gaming environments like
the Atari 2600 Jr. Gustafson is fascinated with how simplicity in programming
languages can accomplish all this. Everything has been coded and designed by
hand - from scratch - to prove "you can do complex things with DHTML cross
platform and browser." Perhaps the various experiments are complex for DHTML
but it is the sweet simplicity that makes the assemblies work so perfectly.
Assembly might remind you of playing with the original lego building blocks:
there is a sense of order and ease in uniformity.
