When I was a child, I used to fantasize about one day working in the fish market sector of the local supermarket. Then I would get to touch and hold all kinds of cold, slimy stuff whenever I wanted. I still wonder what I really thought was so great about the cold slimy deal.

Later, I actually did get a job working as a sushi cook for Tokyo Joes. Getting to touch the cold slimy fish was okay. Mediocre. Not that ground shaking experience that I’d remembered as a kid. I soon realized that that job wasn’t really for me though—I don’t have very good safety habits. I kept stabbing myself with the knives. So many times that it kind of got embarrassing to keep getting written up for on the job injuries.
