FILMTEXT
is a digital narrative created for cross-media platforms.
It is (will be) a museum installation, a net art site,
a conceptual art ebook, an mp3 concept album, a series
of live performances, and a feature length DVD. In the
initial 1.0 iteration of the net art site, commissioned
by Playstation in conjunction with Mark Amerika's "How
To Be An Internet Artist" net art retrospective
at the ICA in London, Amerika referred to FILMTEXT as
"the third part of my new media trilogy,"
following his two other major works of Internet art,
GRAMMATRON and PHON:E:ME.
The
1.1. version of FILMTEXT,
which integrates Amerika's video art, digital
photography, writing, and narrative direction,
with the Flash art of John Vega, and the sound
art of Twine, is now available for purchase in
a limited edition of three. For more information
on how to purchase this work or other works of
net art by Mark Amerika, please contact
the artist.

Texas, and future versions will continue to investigate the interrelationship
between net art, hypermedia narrative and interactive
cinema. In addition to the upgraded and expanded Flash
art work, the 2.0 version also comes with an mp3 concept
album Amerika recorded and produced with the sound artists
